UNESCO City of Gastronomy Guest Chef Series: Geronimo Lopez

The San Antonio Botanical Garden Guest Chef Series is thrilled to partner with the SA City of Gastronomy Chef Ambassadors. From March 18 to April 11, all six Chef Ambassadors will take over our Outdoor Teaching Kitchen for live cooking demonstrations, sharing their stories and showcasing how they contribute to and preserve the rich culinary culture and legacy of San Antonio.

About the Guest Chef

Chef Geronimo Lopez, a Caracas native, has over 30 years of international culinary experience, including roles at luxury hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe, Mexico, and the U.S. A graduate of the Hotel School of Beaune, he has led kitchens at Botika and the Culinary Institute of America in San Antonio. Since 2017, he’s been a culinary ambassador for the city, promoting its food scene worldwide. A James Beard “America’s Taste Twenty” honoree, Chef Lopez now serves as VP of Culinary Operations at the San Antonio Food Bank.
